    2. The concept for Make Change has been around since 2006 and in development during 2009 and launched in January 2010.

  2. Why is this Make Change’s mission?

    3. When we realized we had the opportunity to create positive change through developing relationships between businesses and nonprofits organizations, we just knew we couldn’t pass it up.

  3. In what states do you operate?

    4. We are able to open and service accounts and make donations anywhere in the United States.

  4. Is Make Change affiliated with a major merchant service provider?

    5. Make Change is affiliated with a ten-year-old Independent Service Organization of First Data Corporation. First Data is the largest merchant service processor in the United States.

  5. Will my rates really stay the same?

    6. Your account will be set up at exactly the same rates you are currently paying. Just like with every merchant service relationship, the only rate increases you’ll ever see are very minimal increases passed through from Visa, Mastercard, or another provider.

  6. Can I choose which organizations will receive my support?

    7. Make change has affiliated itself with certain local and national nonprofits to choose from. If you have a particular charity in mind, Make Change will be happy to communicate with them to discuss the possibility of them becoming an affiliate.

  7. How do you choose your partnering organizations?

    8. Make Change has made an effort to choose a variety of nonprofit categories in an effort to distribute donation funds to a broad spectrum of needs and causes.

  8. How will I know you’re actually donating the profits as you say you are?

    9. Make Change will provide annual reporting of donations along with contact information of the charities being supported. In addition, you will see up-to-date information on our blog.

  9. Is it easy to switch?

    10. Yes. It’s a very simple process that for most merchants only takes a couple of hours.

  10. I’m in a service contract but would like to switch to Make Change. What should I do?

    11. We will help you understand your current contract and your rights and options regarding cancellation fees. Make Change never charges cancellation fees.

  11. How can my charity organization partner with Make Change?

  12. How do I know the money is really making a difference?

    13. Our blog will be a showcase for nonprofit activity and information arising out of the donations. There, you will be able to see how small change creates big change.

  13. Can I write-off the money I give back?

    14. Since the merchant doesn’t actually make the donation personally, the merchant cannot take a tax deduction. However, any financial gain from tax deductions available to Make Change Merchant Services as a result of your participation will be re-distributed equally to all participating non-profits.
